Hi, I’m Guido

I moved to Yorkshire from Amsterdam after marrying a Yorkshire girl, and quickly realised I had a lot of exploring to do. Now I live in the Yorkshire Dales, and I spend my time discovering Yorkshire’s towns, countryside, coast, pubs and historic spots, and sharing the ones actually worth your time.

I’ve travelled to 60+ countries, so I know what I want from a travel guide: where to go, where to stay, what to expect, and whether it’s actually worth it. My wife Callie, a Yorkshire local whose family lives in Harrogate, adds her own local knowledge to my recommendations.
