Yorkshire rewards a slow trip. I’m writing up the routes I use when friends and family visit. Until they’re live, here’s roughly how I’d split your time.
How to Split Your Time
- 3 days: two days in York, plus a day in Harrogate or the Dales.
- 5 days: two in York, two in the Dales, one on the coast.
- 7 days: two in York, two in the Dales, three for the North York Moors and the coast.
- Road trip tip: pick up a hire car after York, not before. You won’t need it in the city.
Start Planning
- Things to Do in Yorkshire: the experiences I’d pick across the whole county.
- Places to Visit in Yorkshire: 20 places actually worth your time.
- Plan your Yorkshire trip: getting here, getting around and how many days you need.
Full itineraries are on the way, including a Yorkshire road trip and a weekend in Yorkshire.
