Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 6 Oct 2026

Yorkshire Calling is free to read. To keep it that way, some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then book or buy something, we may earn a small commission. It never costs you anything extra, and the price you pay is the same as going to the site directly.

Who we work with

We work with Stay22, a travel affiliate partner. Through Stay22, some of our links and maps lead to booking sites for:

  • Hotels and other accommodation, such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo
  • Tours, tickets and activities, such as GetYourGuide
  • Car hire, such as Booking.com and Expedia

If you book through one of these links, we may earn a commission. Stay22 can also turn ordinary links to these sites into affiliate links automatically.

If we join other affiliate programmes (for train tickets or travel gear, for example), we’ll add them to this page.

How we choose what to recommend

  • We only recommend places we’d send our own friends to. Most are places we’ve visited ourselves. Where we haven’t, we say so.
  • Commission never decides what we write. A place isn’t included because it pays us, and it isn’t left out because it doesn’t. Many of the places we recommend, such as walks, villages and viewpoints, earn us nothing at all. Where booking direct is better for you, we link to the official site.
  • Our opinions are our own. If somewhere is overrated or overpriced, we’ll tell you.

Gifted stays, tours and sponsored posts

If a hotel, attraction or tourism board gives us a free stay, ticket or payment, we’ll say so clearly at the top of that article. For example: “We were guests of [name]; all opinions are our own.” Paid partnerships will always be labelled as Ad or Sponsored.

How to spot affiliate links

Articles that contain affiliate links have a short note near the top. Links to hotels, tours, car hire and other booking sites, and our accommodation maps, are usually affiliate links. If you’d rather not use them, you can always search for the place directly.

Thank you. Every booking made through our links helps us keep exploring Yorkshire and writing free guides.
